Regulatory and Reimbursement Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the coordination of Medicare and other governmental payment policies, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting for all hospital and clinic entities within the Mercy Health System.

• Conduct analyses of internal and external data, handle information requests, and perform research related to Medicare and other governmental payer regulations.

• Manage data support for the annual Medicare/Medicaid/BlueCross cost report submission to guarantee accurate, timely, and appropriate reimbursements.

• Collaborate regularly with external consultants and governmental auditors to provide necessary supporting information.

• Develop budgets for various entities and address inquiries from managers regarding budgetary concerns and complex projects.

• Create pro forma financial analyses for new or modified services within the system as required.

• Evaluate complex financial processes and suggest opportunities for enhancing the financial performance of the system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university, or a master's degree in a related field.

• Five to ten years of relevant experience, with at least four years in health care finance.

• Extensive experience with Medicare, including the preparation of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports.

• Proficiency in accounting and budgeting related to patient revenue.

• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, along with the analysis, modeling, and reporting of other third-party payers.

• Familiarity with computer systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong interpretive and analytical skills.
