This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local governments, community organizations, and service providers.
• Act as a representative for CAA in regional meetings and forums to advocate for program objectives and collect feedback.
• Assist in creating and delivering educational materials and outreach campaigns specifically designed for local audiences.
• Take the lead in the region for sharing Audit Center data and converting results into actionable insights for jurisdictions.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to identify and implement strategies for enhancing recycling infrastructure throughout Oregon.
• Offer support for local engagement concerning system expansion funding and monitor the performance of investments.
• Help troubleshoot operational challenges and coordinate with local service providers.
• Provide technical assistance as required for site selection, equipment requirements, and operational logistics for both new and existing RecycleOn Centers.
• Assist in conducting annual site audits and provide ongoing technical support for sites.
• Contribute to the planning of regional collection events and offer on-site assistance, including logistics coordination, stakeholder engagement, and data collection.
• Aid in compiling data and preparing reports regarding regional operations, performance metrics, and stakeholder feedback.
• Must live in the region that the position serves.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, Engineering, Political Science, Education, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience with local governments, community organizations, and non-profits will also be considered (7+ years).
• Preferred experience working with local governments and community organizations, along with an understanding of stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Preferred experience in solid waste, recycling, or the implementation of environmental programs.
• Preferred strong understanding of recycling systems and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks.
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to travel regionally across Oregon as necessary.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
• Mileage reimbursement is provided.
