Regional Technical Advisor I – Polio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Democratic Republic of the Congo, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic and technical guidance for the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Activity concerning polio eradication initiatives.

• Ensure that STRIDES polio initiatives align with global recommendations, national policies, Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) standards, and donor requirements.

• Oversee technical aspects of in-country implementation.

• Facilitate capacity building, mentoring, and technical support for country-level teams.

• Create tools, guidance, learning materials, and public resources that enhance STRIDES’ polio portfolio.

• Represent STRIDES’ polio interests to key donors and stakeholders.

• Guarantee coordinated implementation, responsive technical assistance, and thorough reporting that meets or surpasses established standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Health, Life/Social Sciences, International Development, or a Related Field.

• Project Management (PM) Certification is a plus.

• Over 8 years of relevant experience in designing and evaluating applicable programs/services.

• More than 5 years of relevant experience in public health, particularly in developing nations with an emphasis on disease eradication, surveillance, or infectious disease control.

• Experience in managing polio eradication programs and large-scale public health initiatives.

• Relevant publications, presentations, reports, and development of manuals/tools.

• Proficient experience in current polio eradication, surveillance, laboratory support, or related program developments in polio eradication and/or Global Health Security.

• Fluency in both French and English is required.
