This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Complete designated projects in line with the specifications outlined in the Work Orders.
• Guide customers on the proper application of Hempel products and painting systems utilizing the latest technical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to established painting specifications, technical standards, work protocols, and best practices in painting.
• Keep all stakeholders updated on project progress through Progress Reports.
• Inform customers in writing about any deviations or non-conformities, suggest preventive and corrective measures, and follow up on their implementation.
• Oversee and manage project paint inventory and communicate updates to front and back office sales teams.
• Conduct coating condition assessments both onshore and offshore as needed.
• Engage in claim resolution processes and assist in finding solutions.
• Offer pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, including testing and maintaining products, equipment, and services.
• Assess and recommend new products or upgrades to existing equipment.
• Monitor and address recurring issues to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Manage intricate and large-scale projects effectively.
• Provide training to customers on the features and application of purchased products.
• Produce high-quality, timely reports and utilize information tools in accordance with Hempel procedures.
• Ensure that Technical Services equipment is utilized according to project guidelines, is calibrated, and is maintained in good working order.
• Participate in training programs as required.
• Travel to project locations and prepare/distribute technical reports; travel constitutes approximately 80% of working time, both domestically and internationally.
• Conduct work safely in compliance with Hempel and worksite HSE regulations, utilizing necessary PPE.
• Provide technical guidance and support to sales teams.
• Perform technical evaluations of product configurations for customer-specific pricing.
• Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations.
• Research customer technical specifications thoroughly.
• Estimate costs, resources, time, and technical specifications for modifying, configuring, and installing products or solutions.
• Review sales proposals for technical correctness and conformity with quality standards.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English is mandatory.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Coating Advisor in a technical service role, preferably in rail, marine, or oil and gas sectors.
• Familiarity with airless pumps and plural component systems is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as NACE, FROSIO, ABRACO, or IARCOR are advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of the paint and coatings industry.
• Technologically savvy and comfortable with digital reporting tools.
• A university degree in Chemistry or a related discipline is a plus.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Mexico.
• A valid US visa is required for travel purposes.
