• Identifies, initiates, develops, and sustains profitable business sources for HCC Life within the designated marketing region.
• Accountable for generating new business through external sales and marketing to Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and Brokers in the assigned area.
• Cultivates additional business opportunities by drafting correspondence and participating in trade shows.
• Conducts sales calls to nurture and sustain long-term client relationships.
• Manages and enhances existing business portfolios.
• Establishes strong relationships with TPAs and Brokers through site visits and prompt resolution of client issues.
• Develops and maintains a database of current and potential producers.
• Negotiates fees with clients to finalize new and renewal business contracts.
• Observes competitor pricing and industry trends to discern marketplace characteristics.
• Collects information from utilization review and managed care organizations to formulate stop-loss pricing.
• Tracks producer quote ratios, close ratios, renewal persistency, and loss ratios.
• Modifies marketing strategies as necessary.
• Acts as the liaison between the Claims department and new TPA producers throughout the approval process.
• Develops and implements targeted marketing strategies and materials.
• Ensures effective working relationships with clients and various company departments by serving as the point of contact.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Two years of relevant and progressively responsible professional marketing/sales experience.
• Must possess and be able to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Advanced organizational and analytical abilities; proven capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Informed about industry changes, legal updates, and technical advancements related to the company's business area to proactively adapt to a changing business landscape.
• Intermediate proficiency and experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
