This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
• Oversee all sales activities related to Orbit’s products through electrical distributors, while enhancing sales, fostering brand recognition at both the distributor and contractor levels, and achieving profitable sales growth.
• Lead and manage the sales initiatives of Independent Rep Agencies and/or Territory salespeople within the designated region.
• Accountable for meeting sales, profit, and growth objectives for all Orbit products in the assigned area.
• Maintain an optimal mix and margins at distribution across the assigned region.
• Ensure that sales are profitable and fulfill or surpass expectations and criteria set by management.
• Identify, assess, and select Independent Rep agencies and/or Territory salespeople to represent Orbit in the region.
• Guide, coordinate, manage, and inspire the efforts of independent rep agencies and/or Territory salespeople throughout the assigned territory.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly sales performance review meetings with Independent Rep Agencies.
• Complete the Rep Agency Scorecard and devise a plan to enhance the overall score.
• Cultivate and establish direct relationships with electrical distributors, contractors, MRO, and other users of Orbit’s products.
• Advocate for Orbit’s value proposition and enhance brand recognition among distributors and contractors.
• Provide product training for independent rep agencies, territory salespeople, distributors, and contractors.
• Suggest appropriate solutions to contractors, end-users, and specifiers.
• Offer market insights regarding industry trends, competition, and pricing at the market level.
• Analyze the market, create an annual forecast, and formulate a strategic plan for the assigned region.
• Maintain Partner Profiles for distribution partners and supply marketing with business cards to keep the database updated.
• Provide weekly updates on activities.
• Engage actively in all phone/Teams calls, meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
• Submit expense reports promptly.
• Timely follow through and compliance on all management requests.
• Travel as necessary to effectively manage and train independent rep agencies and/or territory salespeople, while monitoring regional activities, trends, challenges, and opportunities for sales growth and enhanced market penetration.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the Electrical Industry is required.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and other computer applications.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Capable of maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Exceptional organizational skills with excellent follow-through.
• Adaptable, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with a professional demeanor.
• Independent worker who does not need extensive supervision.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities.
• Collaborative team player.
• Ability to work with colleagues, management, and the inside team to foster a results-oriented, team-centric atmosphere.
• 60%-70% travel within the assigned region.
