This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.
• Direct a regional field sales and clinical team to achieve sales and market penetration objectives for Abbott’s MCS Division.
• Manage field sales and/or sales support personnel.
• Formulate and execute annual sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Create regional strategic plans focused on revenue, profitability, and market growth.
• Implement sales and service strategies to enhance regional performance.
• Devise strategies to boost appropriate patient referrals and address barriers to Acute therapy adoption.
• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to field sales and support teams through site visits, observation, and performance evaluation.
• Supervise regional training initiatives and market development strategies.
• Lead talent acquisition, development, employment, and retention initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), industry influencers, and competitive clients.
• Stay informed about heart failure technology and the competitive landscape.
• Oversee and manage the region’s profit and loss (P&L) in alignment with finance.
• Ensure compliance with quality policies and systems within the department.
• Contact, visit, and assist clients and potential clients concerning company products.
• Gather and analyze product information while monitoring competitor sales, pricing, and offerings.
• Attend trade shows and conferences as needed.
• Stay updated on advancements in relevant fields.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful sales leadership experience, ideally in the medical device sector.
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
• Proficient in computer applications, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to operate in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business setting.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Skill in leveraging and/or engaging others to achieve project goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across various organizational levels.
• Proven experience with direct quota achievement and performance metrics.
• Flexibility in scheduling for case coverage and client meetings during evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Capability to lift up to 25 pounds, with occasional heavier loads.
• Clear vision and good depth perception.
• Strategic thinking combined with tactical execution abilities.
• Demonstrated skills in market development.
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and clients.
• Capacity to motivate and maintain high performance within a clinical sales and therapy development organization.
• Proven track record of exceptional sales results over an extended period.
• Preferred: Over 6 years of experience in medical device sales.
• Preferred: MBA and/or experience in multi-product/therapy sales management.
• Preferred: background in Heart Failure therapy areas.
