This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark.
• Formulate and implement procurement strategies for last mile and parcel delivery services within the European e-commerce sector.
• Drive sourcing initiatives, tenders, RFQs, and lead commercial negotiations with parcel carriers, postal services, and selected delivery partners.
• Establish scalable commercial frameworks that promote growth, cost efficiency, and service reliability in European markets.
• Negotiate rates, commercial terms, capacity commitments, and service conditions that align with business objectives and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with teams in Product, Operations, Network, Commercial, Finance, and Carrier Management to comprehend business priorities and market needs.
• Convert business and product requirements into procurement opportunities and enhanced supplier propositions.
• Leverage operational, service, and performance data to bolster supplier negotiations and enhance commercial results.
• Identify avenues for reducing delivery costs, improving service competitiveness, and enhancing scalability across European markets.
• Facilitate volume consolidation opportunities across various countries, customers, and lanes to strengthen Maersk’s position with delivery partners.
• Evaluate supplier proposals based on pricing, coverage, service quality, scalability, operational compatibility, and customer value.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the European parcel, last mile, and out-of-home delivery landscape.
• Conduct benchmarking of rates, service models, carrier capabilities, and market trends across key European countries.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with over 5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, parcel, carrier sourcing, e-commerce logistics, or transport procurement.
• In-depth knowledge of European last mile, parcel delivery, postal networks, or e-commerce logistics.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, RFQs, carrier negotiations, and supplier contract management within a multi-country, matrix organization.
• Robust commercial and analytical mindset, capable of linking procurement to revenue, gross profit, customer propositions, and product competitiveness.
• Proficient in analyzing rates, volumes, cost drivers, and service models, and providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.
• Adept at balancing cost, service, scalability, operational feasibility, and customer commitments.
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities across Procurement, Product, Operations, Carrier Management, Network, Sales, and Finance, with a structured, proactive, and pragmatic approach.
• Fluent in English (knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous) with strong MS Office skills and experience in procurement, BI, TMS, or e-commerce platforms.
