Technical Lead, Shopify

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical point of contact for the project and assist the team with development choices;

• Assess the client's current codebase and implement enhancements aimed at security, performance, and scalability;

• Engage in defining the architectural solutions and platform integrations;

• Create and maintain intricate features within the Shopify ecosystem;

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to grasp business requirements and suggest suitable technical solutions;

• Facilitate integrations with external systems, payment gateways, ERPs, and third-party services;

• Establish and advocate for best practices in development, versioning, and code quality;

• Perform code reviews and offer technical assistance to fellow developers on the team;

• Maintain code, resolve bugs, and ensure application stability;

• Take part in project ceremonies and work collaboratively in a global, multidisciplinary setting;

• Contribute to the ongoing development of the platform and the technical choices of the project.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in developing e-commerce platforms;

• Practical experience with Shopify and its ecosystem;

• Strong proficiency in PHP;

• Familiarity with React;

• Experience with integrations and REST/GraphQL APIs;

• Understanding of Git;

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Tailwind;

• Familiarity with development best practices, performance optimization, and security measures;

• Proficient in English;

• Familiarity with Jira.

• Nice to have:

• Experience with Shopify Plus;

• Experience with BigCommerce;

• Experience with payment platforms such as Adyen, Stripe, or similar;

• Knowledge of tax calculation and US tax regulations using Avalara, Vertex, or similar;

• Experience in leading technical teams or projects;

• Understanding of application architecture and scalable integrations.
