
Regional Planned Giving Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• This role is tasked with the cultivation, solicitation, securing, documentation, and stewardship of planned gifts, which include wills, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, beneficiary designations, and other strategies to support the mission of The Salvation Army.
• Fosters and sustains robust relationships with donors and their professional advisors.
• Addresses inquiries and engages in communication with donors, prospects, members of advisory organizations, and Salvation Army staff and officers.
• Conducts personal visits after identifying potential donors, consulting with individuals on specific planned giving options and aiding in their charitable estate planning.
• Instructs Advisory Boards and shares success stories and strategies related to planned giving.
• Participates in conferences and training sessions, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and awareness of planned giving practices and relevant legislation concerning planned giving and taxation.
• Frequently travels within the Western Texas region, including Amarillo, Lubbock, Big Spring, Midland, Odessa, Abilene, San Angelo, and El Paso.
• A minimum of three years’ experience delivering results in fundraising, including planned giving, major gifts, development, capital campaigns, or related fields (such as financial advising or external sales).
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven capability and experience in establishing strong relationships with individual clients.
• Self-motivated with the ability to operate with minimal supervision from a home office.
• Experience in actively developing, cultivating, stewarding, and managing a portfolio of donors or prospects.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver public presentations.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Bona-fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) necessitates an active Christian faith aligned with Salvation Army doctrine and practice.
