This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and sustain clinical, scientific, and technical proficiency in pertinent product and disease-state domains.

• Facilitate balanced medical and scientific dialogue with healthcare providers, thought leaders, payers, and patient advocacy organizations.

• Inform stakeholders about clinical initiatives, disease states, diagnosis, mechanisms of action, and data.

• Assist colleagues in Medical Communication with the creation, review, and approval of materials for scientific exchange.

• Contribute to the formulation of annual strategic and operational plans for field medical activities, including engagement with HCPs/TLs and congress strategies.

• Aid clinical research efforts, which encompass site assessment, recruitment, investigator meetings, expert identification, accrual enhancement, and scientific/disease-state education.

• Provide support for advisory boards and various scientific gatherings.

• Observe competitive landscapes and contribute to competitive intelligence strategies for medical congresses.

• Gather key insights and relay information to internal stakeholders to assist in clinical trials and therapy launches.

• Educate Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams on disease states, diagnosis, mechanisms of action, and clinical trial data.

• Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries via scientific exchange and congress exhibits.

• Support the development of Medical Information as the function evolves.

• Assist in investigator-initiated research and grants by reviewing, submitting, evaluating, and recommending proposals.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines.

• Engage in extensive travel, including occasional visits to the Cambridge, Massachusetts office and potential international trips.


⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in supporting the launch of therapies in the rare or ultra-rare disease sectors is highly preferred.

• A minimum of 7 years in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry within Medical Affairs, emphasizing substantial field medical experience.

• Significant experience in rare or ultra-rare diseases is mandatory.

• Established connections with healthcare professionals and thought leaders in pediatric endocrinology, pediatric neurology, clinical genetics, or neurogenetics are especially desirable.

• Capability to foster credible scientific relationships across multidisciplinary care teams, centers of excellence, and other stakeholders serving rare disease populations.

• Excellent scientific communication and presentation capabilities.

• Proficiency in conveying intricate clinical and scientific information effectively to both internal and external parties.

• Strong analytical abilities, including the critical evaluation and interpretation of scientific and clinical data and literature.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and operate autonomously in a field-based setting.

• Experience in a small, entrepreneurial biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization is preferred.

• Ability to operate with ownership, agility, collaboration, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

• An advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, or PA) or other relevant advanced healthcare qualifications is required, along with suitable field medical experience.
