
Regional Mechanical Operations Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Provide support to operating companies (OPCOs) within the mechanical sector by facilitating coordination, visibility, and enhancement of operational performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Operations Officer and OPCO leadership teams to reinforce execution discipline, aid in leadership transitions, and enhance operational predictability.
• Assist the Senior Vice President of Operations in overseeing OPCO performance across the designated region.
• Engage in operating reviews and project discussions.
• Aid in identifying execution risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the implementation of operational discipline, including project controls, productivity, and planning.
• Travel requirements of up to 40-60%.
• Develop an understanding of key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across OPCOs.
• Monitor performance indicators such as project execution trends, productivity signals, and schedule adherence.
• Provide structured updates to the Senior Vice President of Operations Leadership.
• Cultivate relationships with OPCO leadership teams.
• Assist in the transition of new CEOs or operations leaders.
• Support the Strategic Development Leader in onboarding alignment.
• Participate in enterprise initiatives such as preconstruction discipline enhancements, procurement strategies, and the adoption of technology and AI.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field, or relevant field experience.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Mechanical Construction.
• Prior experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, Fabrication/Prefabrication.
• Exposure to various project types is preferred (commercial, industrial, mission critical).
• Comprehensive understanding of the Mechanical Contracting business.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects while upholding a commitment to Ethics and Safety.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Experience with construction software such as Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with construction and financial software packages.
• Must possess the ability to effectively communicate in English and collaborate with various levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
