This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Provide support to operating companies (OPCOs) within the mechanical sector by aiding in the coordination, visibility, and enhancement of operational performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Operations Officer and OPCO leadership teams to reinforce execution discipline, facilitate leadership transitions, and enhance operational predictability.
• Assist the SVP Operations in overseeing OPCO performance within the designated region.
• Engage in operating reviews and project discussions.
• Help to identify execution risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Aid in the implementation of operational discipline, including project controls, productivity measures, and planning.
• Be prepared to travel 40-60% of the time.
• Gain familiarity with key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across OPCOs.
• Monitor performance indicators, such as project execution trends, productivity signals, and schedule adherence.
• Deliver structured updates to the SVP Operations Leadership.
• Cultivate relationships with OPCO leadership teams.
• Support transitions for new CEOs or operations leaders.
• Assist the Strategic Development Leader in achieving onboarding alignment.
• Take part in enterprise initiatives, including improvements in preconstruction discipline, procurement strategies, and the adoption of technology and AI.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field of study, or equivalent field experience.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Mechanical Construction.
• Previous experience in one or more areas: Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, Fabrication/Prefabrication.
• Preferred exposure to various project types (commercial, industrial, mission critical).
• A comprehensive understanding of the Mechanical Contracting business.
• A proven history of successfully leading projects while upholding commitments to Ethics and Safety.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Experience with construction software such as Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with construction and financial software packages.
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate with various levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, as well as other contractor organizations.
