Regional Manager – Technical Solution Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead TSD teams within their region as a strategic sales leader, tasked with cultivating and sustaining relationships with key account customers to enhance the technical sales differentiation of Abbott solutions.

• Direct the regional technical solution design team to assess user needs, collect customer requirements, and devise an integrated, scalable, and comprehensive solution aimed at improving outcomes for clinical diagnostic healthcare customers.

• Collaborate with a complex network of departments across all organizational levels, including Sales, hospital executives and c-suite leaders, Lab Managers/Directors, Project Managers, HSI/IT personnel, internal and external vendors, contractors, and senior management as necessary.

• Oversee a team of technical experts that serve as a communication bridge between US customers, the company's US sales and service teams, and international counterparts as required.

• Accountable for managing TSD team activities and workload to meet and exceed all sales timelines for solution design deliverables.

• Develop and uphold competitive comparisons to bolster business strategy.

• Act as the primary commercial liaison for technical specialist teams involved in product and process development and enhancement, leveraging expertise in clinical laboratory science and laboratory operations and workflows.

• Collaborate with the Sales Organization to identify new consulting opportunities and craft customized solutions. Activities may encompass RFI/RFP assistance concerning technical data, solution development, value creation, and customer meetings and presentations.

• Cultivate a team with the aim of functioning as a unified entity covering all areas of technical expertise for Abbott products.

• Establish and nurture effective long-term relationships with both internal and external customers.

• Manage and support sales objectives and customer satisfaction to drive business growth.

• Responsible for implementing and sustaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in multiple clinical laboratory design specialties: strategic selling, automation, instrumentation, analytics, workflow, and/or informatics.

• Exhibit excellence in leadership by mentoring and coaching team members to foster the advancement of technical skills.

• Lead training and development initiatives to maintain a robust succession pipeline within the TSD organization.

• Maintain fiscal responsibility regarding both revenue and expenses, with the primary objective of surpassing each year’s work plan.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.

• Over 7 years of experience in one or more of the following domains: (i) selling technical products, services, installations, and configurations of automated diagnostic systems, laboratory automation systems, and system integrations; (ii) clinical laboratory science and laboratory operations and workflows; (iii) modifying informatics, laboratory middleware, and automation software; or (iv) conducting data analyses and employing data mining software specific to instrumentation and automation platforms.

• Strong leadership and management capabilities.
