This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Lead, mentor, and oversee Area Managers, local operations staff, and drivers.
• Foster a culture centered around safety, accountability, operational excellence, and customer service.
• Monitor, document, and assess employee performance.
• Provide coaching, constructive feedback, recognition, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to company employment policies and collaborate with Human Resources on disciplinary actions.
• Assist in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and enhancing employee retention.
• Supervise regional profit-and-loss performance and apply corrective measures when necessary.
• Develop and implement regional operating strategies that promote safety, service, compliance, and profitability.
• Modify operational strategies and daily activities to meet performance and profit goals.
• Manage regional revenue, expenses, labor, maintenance costs, vendor expenditures, and other financial metrics.
• Create and uphold systems for monitoring operational and financial outcomes.
• Recruit and onboard qualified personnel in partnership with Human Resources.
• Communicate job expectations and facilitate new-hire and safety training.
• Review staffing levels and schedules to align with operational requirements.
• Ensure precise and prompt employee timekeeping and necessary reporting.
• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of trucks, trailers, and associated equipment.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Environmental Managers to uphold regional regulatory compliance.
• Hold managers, drivers, and team members accountable for safety, service, and performance standards.
• Cultivate relationships with customers and job-site representatives.
• Address operational and customer service challenges effectively.
• Inspect operational sites, equipment, and company property regularly.
• Maintain clean, safe, professional, and compliant work environments.
• Report significant operational, equipment, safety, or property issues to the General Manager.
• Ensure timely completion of daily operational reports, safety meetings, time reports, and supporting documentation.
• Manage vendor relationships and service providers.
• Oversee properties that support regional operations and ensure compliance with regulations, leases, and landlord expectations.
• Utilize required personal protective equipment and carry out additional assigned duties.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience in multi-site operations management is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in managing operations, employees, equipment, budgets, and customer relationships.
• Background in waste management, organic recycling, transportation, environmental services, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience managing DOT-regulated transportation operations is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with customer relationship management and operational tracking systems is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
• Class A CDL is preferred.
