This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +3 more states.
• The Regional Manager for the West will be tasked with enhancing the growth and retention of FSC certification within the designated area.
• Expand the acreage of FSC-certified Forest Management.
• Boost engagement among primary processors for FSC Chain of Custody certification.
• Ensure retention of current forest management and primary processor certificate holders.
• Foster growth in Forest Management certification by identifying, nurturing, and recruiting potential certificate holders through strategic outreach, relationship management, and opportunity development.
• Establish connections with landowners, tribes, forest managers, processors, public agencies, and other forestry stakeholders.
• Sustain strong relationships with current Forest Management certificate holders.
• Perform regular outreach to pinpoint opportunities, challenges, and emerging needs.
• Promote growth in primary processor certification by identifying, nurturing, and recruiting potential Chain of Custody certificate holders.
• Represent FSC US at selected industry meetings, conferences, and stakeholder events.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Forest Products, Environmental Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least eight years of pertinent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of forestry, forest products, or natural resource management.
• Experience in business development, market development, or client relationship management.
• Proven ability to cultivate relationships and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Degree from an SAF-accredited forestry program.
• Familiarity with FSC certification systems.
• Established relationships within the western forestry or forest products sectors.
• Experience engaging with landowners, public agencies, tribal forestry programs, family forest owners, or primary processors.
