This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee regional medical affairs initiatives to support the execution of Phase 3 clinical trials.

• Cultivate and sustain scientific relationships with investigators, key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers (HCPs), academic institutions, and integrated delivery networks.

• Assist in investigator and site engagement efforts, encompassing trial awareness, protocol education, patient identification strategies, and OD referral initiatives.

• Act as a scientific resource for investigators and site personnel by offering clinical and protocol-related support throughout the study execution process.

• Lay the groundwork for a scalable field medical organization, with responsibilities for future team growth, organizational design, and leadership of Medical Science Liaison professionals across various geographic regions.

• Foster engagement with targeted healthcare systems, physician enterprise groups, HMOs, academic institutions, and strategic ophthalmology accounts.

• Aid in the development and implementation of quarterly engagement objectives across primary target accounts and strategic customer groups.

• Represent SpyGlass Pharma at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and clinical insight sessions.

• Assist in congress planning activities, including scientific exchange coordination, meeting organization, and collection of field medical insights.

• Facilitate compliant scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals regarding clinical data, disease state education, and pipeline development activities.

• Collaborate with Commercial and Medical Affairs leadership to assist in identifying, onboarding, and training speakers for the bureau.

• Collect and relay field insights, competitive intelligence, and unmet medical needs to internal cross-functional teams.

• Work closely with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment of medical strategies and field operations.

• Maintain extensive scientific and clinical knowledge in ophthalmology, glaucoma, ocular hypertension, and related therapeutic areas.

• Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with relevant regulatory standards, company policies, and industry guidelines.

• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region and attend national conferences, investigator meetings, and corporate gatherings as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is preferred (PharmD, PhD, OD, MD, NP, or PA).

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device sectors, including experience in field medical affairs or MSL leadership.

• Experience in ophthalmology, retina, glaucoma, ocular hypertension, or related therapeutic fields is highly desirable.

• Experience in supporting Phase 3 clinical programs, investigator-sponsored research, or clinical trial site engagement activities is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of clinical trial operations, GCP, FDA regulations, and compliant scientific exchange practices.

• Proven experience in engaging with healthcare providers, academic institutions, integrated delivery networks, and key opinion leaders.

• Exceptional scientific communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.

• Capability to analyze and convey complex scientific and clinical information to varied audiences.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Proven ability to work efficiently within cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.
