Regional Director, Hotel Openings – Premium Brands

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the initiation of a portfolio of franchised hotels within the MLAC sub-region, encompassing all IHG Premium brands.

• Oversees and manages the cross-functional opening team in all hotel-related activities.

• Cultivates and maintains relationships with Owners, Developers, Consultants, Hotel Services, Asset Managers, Pre-opening Teams, and Operations to ensure the successful launch of IHG hotels in the Americas.

• Guarantees adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards at the time of opening.

• Ensures the effective execution of the Sales & Marketing ramp-up plans to achieve outstanding revenue performance immediately upon opening.

• Coordinates the contributions of functional leaders in the pre-opening team throughout the entire process.

• Performs pre-opening inspections, incorporating feedback from AD&C and Risk Management, and grants authorization for the hotel to join the system and welcome paying guests.

• Facilitates post-project reviews with both internal and external team members to gather best practice insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in hotel management operations.

• 3-5 years of experience in hotel openings or related roles (experience with Premium brands is preferred).

• Proven ability to manage teams, ideally cross-functional/disciplinary teams, both with and without direct hierarchical authority (i.e., external teams or teams from other functions lacking direct line management authority).

• Experience in project management within a matrix organization overseeing multiple business units.

• Previous experience working in an international or global organization.
