Regional Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead, oversee, and nurture a high-performing regional team that operates across various geographical locations.

• Formulate and execute a unified regional strategy.

• Manage project initiatives and advocacy efforts in the Southeast in collaboration with local partners and national program staff.

• Assist in the development and implementation of regional work plans aligned with the American Rivers strategic plan.

• Act as the primary fundraiser for the Southeast region.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders at the local, state, regional, and federal levels.

• Enhance the reputation of American Rivers within the region.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong commitment to the core values of American Rivers.

• Proven experience in partnership development and collaboration, fundraising, effective verbal and written communication, project design and execution, program and budget planning, administration, and staff management.

• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.

• Background in grants management and fundraising from individuals, foundations, and government programs.

• Familiarity with direct or indirect lobbying, as well as electoral or advocacy campaigns.

• Established conservation professional adept at advancing advocacy and project initiatives in the region.

• Recommended knowledge of multi-benefit river management, floodplains, urban rivers, pollution prevention, river restoration, and/or dam removal issues.
