This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the installation and management of equipment at Land Ports of Entry, Airports, and Border Patrol sites.
• Supervise electrical contractors involved in both indoor and outdoor plant modifications.
• Monitor and document the progress of work activities.
• Diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
• Recognize installation challenges and risks, developing solutions for complex problems.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of implemented solutions.
• Comply with IT Security, physical security, and operational security regulations.
• Operate in various field conditions without direct supervision.
• Provide emergency support for non-deployment repairs in the Buffalo, NY region.
• Foster relationships and build trust with Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents.
• Be prepared to travel at least 75% of the time to Southern or Northern U.S. borders.
• Visit U.S. Customs Ports of Entry and Border Patrol locations within the Buffalo, NY area.
• Cover daily locations up to 150 miles from the home base.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience as a Deployment Manager or in a similar position; additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the capacity to obtain a CBP Public Trust clearance.
• Current residency in the Buffalo, NY area is required.
• Familiarity with basic construction techniques related to inside/outside plant cabling and the ability to interpret construction documents.
• Strong understanding of fundamental Project Management principles.
• Excellent time-management abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in utilizing mobile tools and applications.
• Basic understanding of low voltage electrical wiring principles.
• Technical expertise in CAT 6 and coaxial signal cabling, including testing and termination.
• Technical skills in single-mode and multi-mode fiber cabling, covering testing, termination, and splicing.
• Experience with LED video displays and digital billboards.
• Management experience with subcontractors is essential.
• Strongly desired understanding of multimode fiber installation and troubleshooting.
• Active DHS Public Trust is highly preferred.
• Must be able to secure DHS Public Trust before joining the team.
• Mileage reimbursement at the current government rate.
• A comprehensive toolkit will be provided to facilitate installation and maintenance tasks.
