Regional Delivery Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• In the role of Delivery Manager Director, the individual will be responsible for leading and ensuring the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs in the Central America and Caribbean region.

• They will serve as the primary liaison between development teams, clients, and regional management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• This position incorporates emerging capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the delivery processes to enhance operational efficiency and the value delivered to clients.

• Direct the software project portfolio in the region, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.

• Establish and monitor delivery KPIs: on-time delivery rate, customer satisfaction score (CSAT), defect density, and cost variance.

• Proactively manage risks and implement effective mitigation plans.

• Coordinate the allocation of human and technical resources across simultaneous projects.

• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams ranging from 20 to over 80 personnel, including project managers, tech leads, QA, and DevOps.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer orientation.

• Integrate AI and automation tools (GitHub Copilot, JIRA AI, risk prediction) into the delivery workflows.

• Act as a trusted advisor and executive escalation point for clients in the banking, insurance, and financial sectors in the region.

• Define and standardize agile frameworks and delivery methodologies (SAFe, Scrum at Scale, Kanban).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Required)

• Master's degree in IT Management, MBA, or a postgraduate qualification in related areas. (Desirable)

• Valued certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe SPC, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master.

• A minimum of 8 years of proven experience leading the delivery of medium to large-scale software projects.

• Experience managing teams of 40 or more personnel directly.

• A proven track record of working with clients in Central America and/or the Caribbean (Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, etc.).

• Experience in the financial, banking, or insurance sectors is highly valued.

• Proficient in agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS.

• Knowledge of modern software architectures: microservices, cloud-native, REST/GraphQL APIs.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Understanding of AI/ML tools applied to software delivery: automated estimation, AI code review, predictive analysis.

• Proficient in management tools: JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project.
