Regional Collector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Capture of charges and posting of over-the-counter payments.

• Verification of insurance and eligibility status.

• Process for insurance pre-authorization and pre-certifications.

• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding insurance and payment matters before surgery.

• Ensure that all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is accurately collected from patients and entered into the billing system promptly.

• Register patients in the system.

• Gather and update all patient insurance details.

• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses at the time of service.

• Record approved adjustments to patient accounts.

• Balance receipts, reconcile daily work batches, and prepare audit trails.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical collections is required.

• Proficient with computers and experienced in Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office.

• Familiarity with medical practice billing software is essential.

• Regional Collector License/Certification is required.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, as well as electronic billing, is necessary.

• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, patients, their families, and physicians along with their teams.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

• Capability to manage frequent interruptions and re-evaluate priorities as needed.

• Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
