This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Develop and oversee the creation of civil design and construction plans, which include notes, details, plan and profile sheets, and cross-sections.
• Create schedules, assign projects, and update the project database.
• Draft and negotiate design agreements, addressing schedule, scope, and budget aspects.
• Prepare and submit packages for project permitting.
• Lead the team in conducting technical stormwater calculations for the development of athletic facilities.
• Generate technical reports, memos, and exhibits to support project documentation.
• Conduct technical reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, shop drawings, and other engineering documents to ensure they meet industry standards and company guidelines.
• Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and estimates of probable construction costs.
• Research and select technical reference data for project specifications.
• Assist the sales team with concept designs and participate in client meetings.
• This is a highly communicative role — must feel at ease interacting with jurisdictions, peers, clients, and supervisors to guarantee project success.
• Ensure adherence to company safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with installation crews, subcontractors, and sales teams to address technical and operational challenges.
• Conduct site construction visits and prepare related field reports.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices while aiding project managers with billing, design, and engineering tasks.
• Oversee project closeout processes, including Certificates of Completion, As-Builts, and final checklists.
• Provide subject matter expertise to sales and clients to secure contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a technical school degree with equivalent experience.
• Preferred Professional Engineering (PE) License (CA, OR, WA), with 6-10 years of experience and the ability to obtain licensure reciprocity in neighboring jurisdictions.
• Experience in civil site design, including site layout, grading, drainage, water, sewer, earthwork, and sediment control is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design tasks.
• Strong leadership skills: Lead the regional Design & Sales Process by organizing and assembling scope for new design projects in collaboration with sales, customers, and local contractors.
• Excellent multitasking and crisis management abilities, including managing customer service demands, construction RFIs, and installation challenges.
• Experience with bidding and estimating processes, ensuring appropriate budget allocation and project scope completion.
• Ability to monitor projects and maintain communication with project teams, customers, and sales during execution.
• Knowledge of material compliance and subcontractor coordination, including visits to regional aggregate quarries and civil partners.
• Ensure all projects are closed out promptly and within budget, with customers fully engaged in completion and punch-list tasks finalized.
