This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Establish telecommunications infrastructure standards for Rowan data centers.
• Design and evaluate ISP and OSP telecommunications systems, which include conduit pathways, duct banks, handholes, vaults, and fiber distribution networks.
• Specify fiber backbone architectures, route diversity requirements, and capacity planning strategies.
• Assist in the design and standards for Carrier Entrance Facilities (CEF), Building Entry Facilities (BEF), Meet-Me Rooms (MMR), Main Distribution Frames (MDF), and Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF).
• Collaborate on telecommunications requirements across campus and building infrastructure.
• Create and maintain structured cabling standards for both fiber optic and copper infrastructure.
• Analyze telecommunications room layouts, rack elevations, pathways, and cable routing designs.
• Facilitate fiber allocation planning, patching strategies, labeling standards, and cable management practices.
• Manage carrier access requirements, dark fiber connectivity, lit services, and interconnection strategies.
• Assess customer telecommunications needs and Owner Project Requirements (OPRs).
• Aid in telecommunications commissioning activities, including fiber testing, OTDR validation, certification review, and turnover documentation.
• Evaluate telecommunications submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and construction documents for adherence to Rowan standards.
• Assist in the design and execution of IT and OT network infrastructure within Rowan data centers.
• Align network requirements for Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated operational technologies.
• Contribute to network topology development, IP addressing strategies, resiliency requirements, and infrastructure standards.
• Examine network equipment layouts, rack elevations, and telecommunications infrastructure requirements to ensure they align with the overall facility design.
• Collaborate with network engineers, controls vendors, and operations teams throughout the design, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure design.
• Proven experience in supporting hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial facilities.
• Solid understanding of ISP/OSP telecommunications design principles.
• Experience with structured cabling systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and carrier connectivity.
• Familiarity with Carrier Entrance Facilities, Meet-Me Rooms, MDFs, IDFs, and telecommunications room design.
• Practical knowledge of IT/OT network infrastructure and BMS network requirements.
• Understanding of BICSI, TIA, and telecommunications industry standards.
• RCDD certification is preferred.
• Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and project management abilities.
