This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead, mentor, and enhance the capabilities of a team consisting of seven Regional Account Managers.
• Convert national and zone objectives into a regional business strategy that includes goals, account priorities, resource distribution, and metrics for success.
• Establish operational rhythms that encompass field coaching, business assessments, performance monitoring, opportunity planning, and necessary adjustments.
• Leverage data, market intelligence, and field insights to discover growth opportunities and enhance regional execution.
• Take ownership of regional outcomes and resource management, which includes budget oversight and forecasting.
• Recruit, onboard, motivate, develop, and retain high-achieving Regional Account Managers.
• Observe customer interactions in the field and provide coaching, feedback, development plans, and challenging opportunities.
• Create team account strategies that consider patient journeys, referral networks, access dynamics, customer needs, and competitive factors.
• Enhance customer engagement across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology environments.
• Facilitate compliant coordination among field partners to tackle relevant patient-journey challenges.
• Develop clinical and business knowledge in rare cholestatic liver disease and the Liver portfolio.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Deliver actionable field insights that inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, and execution priorities.
• Drive change, foster an inclusive culture, and uphold ethical conduct and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive commercial experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• More than 3 years of successful first-line sales leadership experience with direct accountability for field team performance and talent development.
• Proven history of achieving business results while cultivating engaged, capable, and accountable teams.
• Strong background in field coaching, offering candid and constructive feedback, managing performance, and nurturing future leaders.
• Experience in rare diseases, orphan drugs, or highly specialized high-science commercial settings.
• Familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets.
• Experience leading during product launches, indication expansions, organizational transformations, or in a dynamic competitive landscape.
• Knowledge of account-based selling, health-system dynamics, referral networks, centers of excellence, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Experience collaborating with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, and Operations.
• Ability to analyze business data, extract insights, formulate regional strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, sound judgment, organizational capabilities, and prioritization skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
