This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Lead the adoption of Alexion’s aHUS and HSCT-TMA therapies through effective field sales execution, compliant clinical education, and tailored account-specific pull-through initiatives.
• Generate demand, facilitate appropriate product access, and enhance therapy adoption within designated accounts.
• Establish trusted relationships with healthcare professionals throughout the territory.
• Represent Alexion’s aHUS and newly assigned indications, educating providers on treatments for rare nephrological conditions.
• Meet or exceed sales targets for the designated territory and indications.
• Develop and implement disease-specific sales account strategies for academic institutions, hospitals, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), community accounts, and other priority venues.
• Map stakeholders, patient journeys, diagnostic workflows, referral pathways, and account factors that influence therapy adoption.
• Identify gaps and execute solutions regarding diagnostics, referrals, operational readiness, protocols, and stakeholder alignment.
• Foster clinical advocacy and educational relationships while developing clinical champions across relevant specialties.
• Deliver approved clinical messages, support formulary access, and educate stakeholders on disease states, diagnostic criteria, and therapy integration.
• Assist in the implementation of therapies across treatment workflows, pharmacies, infusion, and site-of-care processes.
• Educate stakeholders regarding fulfillment, payer access, reimbursement, prior authorization, and barriers to access support.
• Mobilize cross-functional teams and enterprise partners to meet account objectives and address obstacles.
• Advocate for customer priorities internally and promote account-specific solutions.
• Create and maintain business plans tailored to specific accounts and indications.
• Address customer inquiries and objections in a compliant manner and triage questions appropriately.
• Utilize CRM and AI-enabled tools to prioritize tasks, track engagement, document activities, submit reports, and enhance call execution.
• Leverage AI-driven insights for territory planning, healthcare professional targeting, and pre-call strategies.
• Provide product expertise and customer service across assigned accounts.
• Adhere to Alexion’s Code of Ethics, Business Conduct, policies, and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 5 years of experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, rare disease sales, account management, or complex institutional selling.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, reimbursement processes, fulfillment pathways, and multi-stakeholder decision-making.
• Proven ability to navigate clinical formulary and access processes while influencing treatment pathway adoption.
• Demonstrated track record in building relationships and influencing clinical, administrative, operational, pharmacy, and access stakeholders.
• Exceptional strategic planning, problem-solving, account management, and communication skills.
• Capability to comprehend and translate complex clinical data.
• Proficiency in navigating fulfillment, reimbursement, protocol integration, and operational barriers at the account level.
• Ability to map complex patient journeys and align account plans with business objectives.
• Competence in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing role boundaries.
• Must reside within the geographic territory or within 50 miles of its border.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the territory, including frequent overnight and weekend travel.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Preferred: advanced or master’s degree.
• Preferred: experience in orphan or ultra-orphan disease markets.
• Preferred: bio/pharma background in hematology, hem/onc, oncology, nephrology, transplant, internal medicine, or hospital-based specialty care.
• Preferred: experience with major academic institutions, hospitals, IDNs, Centers of Excellence, and complex community networks.
• Preferred: demonstrated success in driving protocol adoption, formulary support, workflow integration, and account pull-through.
