Referral Management Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage internal, incoming, and external referrals for all outpatient services

• Secure prior authorizations

• Arrange patient appointments

• Handle both incoming and outgoing phone communications

• Discuss copayment, prepayment, and outstanding balance obligations with patients

• Participate in the point-of-service collection process

• Adhere to and consistently apply established referral policies and workflows

• Prioritize referrals based on urgency and address them promptly

• Ensure that complete demographic, insurance, and relevant clinical information is provided to referred specialists

• Liaise with insurance companies to confirm that prior approval requirements are fulfilled

• Present medical history, diagnosis, prognosis, and other essential information to insurance companies to establish medical necessity when required

• Review referral specifics and expectations with both ordering providers and patients

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2 years of experience in medical referrals, healthcare, and/or prior authorization

• Travel requirements: Never or Rarely
