This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +26 more states.
• Manages the daily functions and productivity of the Recovery Department.
• Ensures that staff adheres to relevant federal and state regulations concerning consumer debt collection while following the Credit Union’s established policies, procedures, and practices.
• Provides leadership, strategic planning, motivation, guidance, and development to all assigned personnel within their area of responsibility.
• Represents the best interests of both the Credit Union and its members.
• Conducts regular meetings with supervisors to discuss performance and departmental matters.
• Communicates with management regarding the effectiveness and overall performance of the department.
• A Bachelor of Arts/Science degree from an accredited college or university is required, or 4 years of additional collections experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in collections related to consumer, direct and indirect auto loans, credit cards, and mortgages is required.
• Experience in a call center environment is advantageous.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience is required.
• Must possess knowledge of Debtor/Creditor Collection Law, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and Florida Statutes related to consumer debt collection.
• Familiarity with bankruptcy law is beneficial.
• Excellent telephonic communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential.
• Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues while providing accurate information is necessary.
• Must demonstrate the ability to remain courteous under pressure.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in general office and PC equipment, as well as the use of automated collection software, is required.
