Real Estate Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver precise and prompt property assessments to facilitate loan origination and risk evaluation.

• Ensure that renovation budgets and pro formas are in line with market trends and project parameters.

• Contribute significantly to optimizing the underwriting process and bolstering investor success.

• Assess construction draws, budgets, and scopes of work across several ongoing projects.

• Review and analyze 5–8 real estate transactions and 10–20 construction draws weekly.

• Evaluate inspection reports, draw requests, and accompanying documentation for accuracy and consistency.

• Monitor project advancement, remaining reserves, and funding schedules.

• Detect inconsistencies among inspections, budgets, and draw requests submitted by borrowers.

• Reconcile property expenses before and after renovation work.

• Verify budget precision across various project types: new constructions, cosmetic updates, comprehensive renovations, and multifamily units (5+ units).

• Validate renovation cost estimates and analyze cost distributions across labor, materials, and trades.

• Read and comprehend building plans, scopes of work, and construction documents.

• Navigate building permits, assessor records, and local compliance requirements.

• Utilize knowledge of construction sequences and timelines to evaluate project viability and risk.

• Analyze borrower-supplied pro formas for larger projects.

• Handle a high volume of projects concurrently while upholding keen attention to detail.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in single or multi-family construction, construction engineering, or general contracting.

• Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and project life cycles.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting building plans and construction documentation.

• Experience in estimating materials, labor, and overall project costs.

• Familiarity with building codes, permitting procedures, and municipal regulations.

• Experience managing project budgets, preferably using CSI MasterFormat divisions.

• Strong Excel skills are essential.

• Ability to evaluate scenarios using logic and sound judgment rather than solely relying on checklists.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to assess overall project risk (big picture thinking).

• Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.

• Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
