React Native Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold features for the restaurant tablet mobile application utilizing React Native and TypeScript.

• Design and create reusable components and business logic that comply with architectural standards.

• Integrate REST APIs and manage real-time data using WebSockets and Pusher.

• Compose and uphold unit and component tests utilizing Jest and React Native Testing Library.

• Identify and resolve defects by analyzing errors and crashes through Sentry.

• Engage in code reviews and ensure a clean, consistent codebase.

• Play a role in the release cycle, including deploying over-the-air updates via CodePush.

• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams in a distributed, async-friendly environment.

• Contribute throughout the entire product lifecycle, from functionality design to release and production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated commercial experience in developing React Native applications that have been launched into production.

• Familiarity with configuring and managing releases through Fastlane, App Store/TestFlight, Google Play, and Firebase App Distribution.

• Proficient in TypeScript, with strong skills in strict mode, generics, robust typing, and typed Redux.

• Solid grasp of React hooks, state management, performance, and optimization of re-renders.

• Practical experience with Redux Toolkit, including createSlice, createAsyncThunk, and selectors.

• Proficient in integrating REST APIs using Axios and managing asynchronous operations.

• Experience with real-time data management using WebSockets and/or Pusher.

• Strong debugging capabilities across both JavaScript and native logs.

• Familiarity with error-monitoring tools such as Sentry.

• Experienced in writing automated tests with Jest and React Native Testing Library.

• Proficient with Git and conducting code reviews.

• Bonus: Experience with CodePush/OTA updates, CI/CD pipelines, native modules and code, Firebase, OAuth2/Keycloak, secure storage, Detox, and hardware integrations.
