• Collaborate with Directors in the areas of Rail Bridges, Railway and Civil, Public Projects, and Rail Construction.
• Opportunity to play a pivotal role in local, regional, or national rail initiatives.
• Assist with the recruitment and retention of talent, performance management, and staff development.
• Support business development efforts and utilize relationships to expand the client base and secure future projects.
• Analyze the backlog of the regional rail & transit practice and maintain a staffing needs forecast.
• Conduct workforce analysis and resource management to identify necessary skills, experience, competencies, and training requirements.
• Oversee the management of staff utilization by scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting assignments; creating and managing department budgets; providing leadership and direction through mentoring and motivating staff on performance feedback, financial management, and client relations; and resolving personnel issues such as marginal performance, policy interpretations, and succession planning.
• A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is mandatory.
• At least 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience should encompass some familiarity with a Class I, Amtrak, regional, or local rail and transit agency, including planning, rail bridge, track, construction management, project management, or other related fields.
• A Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred.
• Must qualify to be a Project Manager and manage projects for clients within the respective market/office.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
• Ability to capitalize on existing connections and client relationships to identify and/or secure new rail & transit opportunities.
• Proficient in networking and influencing at peer levels.
• Knowledge and experience with Oracle-based (or similar) resource and financial management systems.
