Radiological Engineer, Level 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• This role reports to the Manager of Radiological Engineering and focuses on areas such as source terms, dose analysis for both normal and accident scenarios, atmospheric dispersion modeling, particle transport, reactor analysis, and shielding analysis.

• Conduct engineering calculations and analyses employing industry-standard methodologies and simulation tools (e.g., NRCDose, SCALE, RADTRAD, MCNP, and ADVANTG) with minimal supervision.

• Create solutions for intricate problems that often necessitate innovative and creative approaches.

• Plan, organize, and execute innovative and complex engineering tasks within a team focused on engineering project development; interpret project scope and requirements; formulate alternatives.

• Utilize judgment within broadly defined policies and practices, applying professional principles and company objectives to address complex challenges.

• Collaborate with internal colleagues and management on matters requiring coordination within the department and sector.

• Serve as a technical resource representing the department both internally and externally.

• Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering or radiological health physics from an ABET or ANSAC accredited institution is mandatory.

• At least 5 years of full-time experience in nuclear/radiological engineering or health physics is essential.

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years (which can be additional or concurrent) of experience in PWR or BWR design analysis utilizing radiological engineering software such as NRCDose, SCALE, RADTRAD, MCNP, and ADVANTG.

• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
