QuickBooks Online / R365 Accounting Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Take charge of full-cycle accounting independently utilizing QuickBooks Online and, eventually, Restaurant365.

• Keep financial records clean, precise, and ready for audits.

• Manage accruals, sales tax submissions, and tip accounting.

• Prepare and assess monthly financial statements.

• Spot discrepancies and take proactive steps to resolve them.

• Revise and organize financial records as needed.

• Ensure financial reporting is conducive to scalability and operational insights.

• Show strong ownership of the balance sheet and confidently explain accounting treatments and recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional certification.

• At least 5 to 6+ years of practical accounting experience, demonstrating a clear progression of responsibilities.

• Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online.

• Proficient in clear, neutral English, capable of concise communication with U.S.-based teams.

• Willingness and capability to work across QBO.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.

• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

• Proven expertise in core accounting principles (accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet management).

• Ability to independently analyze and evaluate financial statements.

• Solid understanding of U.S. accounting best practices (familiarity with GAAP preferred).

• High attention to detail and precision.

• Capacity to work autonomously in a remote setting.

• Experience in the restaurant, franchise, or hospitality sector is preferred.

• Interest in AI, automation, and emerging accounting technologies.

• Demonstrated accounting capability, maturity, and professional confidence are essential.
