Quiché VRI/OPI Interpretation Vacancy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a strong understanding of the specific vocabulary related to the industry (healthcare and medical, in particular).

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations of messages.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Quiché'.

• At least 1 year of over-the-phone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• A good understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
