Quantum Research Scientist Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Developing automated protocols and pipelines for the discovery of quantum error correcting codes.

• Utilizing AI and automation to uncover innovative quantum error correcting codes that excel in encoding rate, error suppression, and system realizability.

• Integrating diverse classical machine learning techniques to identify high-performance code constructions, along with creating custom machine learning models designed for optimal code development.

• Establishing methods to identify high-performance error correcting codes that directly account for hardware constraints across various physical systems.

• Analyzing and assessing the performance of fault-tolerant circuits that implement quantum error correcting logic and memory through analytical and simulation tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Strong proficiency in Python and a foundational understanding of quantum computing principles, particularly superconducting qubits and circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED).

• Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly learn, standard quantum superconducting qubit chip design software.

• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Palace, or similar solvers.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation abilities.
