This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• This position involves quantity surveying within the estimating department, reporting directly to the Estimating Manager.
• The main requirement is for an individual who can take charge of the takeoff and measurement tasks across commercial projects, allowing senior estimators to concentrate on pricing and analysis.
• If you have the capability to rate and price, that would be a valuable addition, but the core focus of this role revolves around quantity surveying expertise.
• Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for all non-service trades (including structure, concrete, steel, reinforcement, fit-out, finishes, etc.) based on architectural and structural drawings.
• Generate precise bills of quantities for commercial construction projects within stringent tender timelines, typically ranging from 4 to 5 weeks.
• Independently review complete drawing sets to identify scope inclusions, gaps, and ambiguities.
• Enter quantities into Cubit or Costx and maintain organized, reviewable workbooks.
• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager and senior estimators to clarify scope and highlight potential risks or documentation issues.
• Assist with multiple simultaneous tenders, managing your workload effectively against submission deadlines.
• Gradually develop familiarity with our standard rates and pricing methodologies to ultimately advance towards full estimation capabilities.
• Proven experience in performing quantity takeoffs on commercial construction projects.
• Ability to independently read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience in quantifying structural trades (including concrete, steel, reinforcement, framing, cladding, and finishes).
• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to self-review work prior to handover.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working under fixed deadlines in a tendering context.
• A minimum of 4 to 5 years in a quantity surveying or estimating role within the commercial construction sector; fit-out-only experience may be considered if the candidate can demonstrate competency in structural takeoffs.
• Preference for candidates with Australian construction experience; candidates with experience from New Zealand or the United Kingdom will also be seriously considered. Those whose experience is limited to Indian construction standards may not be shortlisted unless they have strong compensating qualifications.
• Full-time permanent offshore position with a reputable Australian commercial builder.
• Direct integration into a well-structured and experienced estimating team.
• Clear opportunities for growth from QS-focused tasks into full estimation responsibilities over time.
• Stable and consistent workload with repeat tenders across various commercial project types.
• Supportive team environment; an existing offshore team member ensures this model is well understood.
