This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct research, design, and develop quantitative investment and risk analysis to support QMAP's daily operations, encompassing investment analysis, risk reporting/analysis, portfolio development, and quantitative modeling.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to refine existing methods and create new approaches for investment analysis and portfolio construction.
• Clearly articulate the rationale behind recommendations and convey findings in a manner that is actionable and investment-focused.
• Comprehend, maintain, and enhance the infrastructure that supports both quantitative and qualitative research as well as investment processes.
• Create processes and procedures aimed at automating current data collection and maintenance, particularly within 3iQ’s performance database.
• Assess investment ideas through empirical analysis and conduct back-testing of strategies.
• Convert research findings into applicable portfolio recommendations.
• Partner with technology teams to develop and integrate new quantitative capabilities into the investment workflow.
• 2–4 years of experience in pertinent sectors of the financial industry, including portfolio analysis, risk analysis, optimization, or asset allocation.
• Background in risk research, quantitative portfolio construction techniques, investment management, and portfolio analyses.
• Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous independent empirical research and present innovative research concepts.
• Familiarity with quantitative portfolio and risk tools such as Bloomberg and crypto portfolio management systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in translating complex quantitative analyses into clear, actionable investment insights.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong programming and database skills, including experience with Python, R, SQL, and BI tools.
• High technical aptitude and flexibility.
• Strong collaboration and influencing abilities across investment teams.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Preferred experience with optimization methods and AI-driven research tools.
• Experience in digital asset trading is preferred but not mandatory.
• A graduate degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred, such as Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Decision Science, or Computer Science.
• CFA designation is a plus.
