
Quality of Earnings Manager – QofE Services Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
• Lead QofE Lite projects for self-funded searchers within the NMC ecosystem.
• Develop and oversee a standardized, scalable QofE workflow designed for small business transactions.
• Produce standard QOE reports evaluating financial integrity, proof of cash, revenue normalization, seller discretionary earnings, customer concentration, margin consistency, business valuation, and other essential metrics.
• Offer light post-close financial advisory services where applicable, particularly regarding working capital needs.
• Manage the P&L for NMC's financial diligence and back-office operations.
• Establish or oversee outsourced delivery partners for accounting and bookkeeping services.
• Collaborate with the core NMC team to upsell or cross-sell services as deals advance.
• Work with entrepreneurs and Deal Analysts to prioritize incoming QofE tasks.
• Summarize findings into concise reports that bolster investment memos and lender packages.
• Assist in educating entrepreneurs on best practices regarding financial presentation and hygiene.
• CPA or equivalent accounting certification is required.
• 2–5+ years of experience in QofE, preferably on the buy-side.
• Experience working with businesses generating less than $10M in revenue.
• Strong understanding of acquisition accounting and typical adjustments.
• Excellent communication skills—ability to simplify complex financial information.
• Experience providing services to self-funded searchers or independent sponsors.
• Familiarity with common software tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Google Sheets-based reporting.
• Willingness to utilize AI tools to develop scalable processes.
• Entrepreneurial mindset—demonstrated experience in building something or a desire to do so.
