This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review completed title searches conducted by our internal team for accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with client-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assess, analyze, and evaluate documents such as deeds, mortgages, property taxes, federal and state inheritance/estate taxes, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, bankruptcy filings, foreclosures, chancery proceedings, and plats/maps, ensuring they are included in the title binder or informational report for ownership and encumbrance verification, as well as confirming legal property descriptions.
• Analyze and comprehend the chain of title and any defects within it, preparing reports that detail title-related issues.
• Review title records from external abstractors and, when necessary, gather additional information from ground abstractors to ensure a complete and thorough examination.
• Integrate all title search findings and compile comprehensive property reports and title commitments.
• Exhibit exceptional attention to detail while extracting information from documents and subsequently inputting that data into reports or software.
• This is a full-time remote position, requiring the successful candidate to work a complete 8-hour day, five days a week.
• A minimum of 1-4 years of experience as a title abstractor/examiner is required, including experience with online searches.
• Knowledge of various state regulations and the ability to conduct online searches of state, city, county, and school property tax jurisdictions.
• Strong attention to detail while reviewing and inputting information and data from source documents, ensuring the production of accurate, clear, and professionally formatted title reports.
• Proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with different title search platforms is advantageous but not mandatory (e.g., Softpro, Qualia, Datatrace, etc.).
• Good judgment regarding access to confidential borrower information.
• Capability to collaborate effectively and work within a team environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capacity to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
