• Evaluate complete workflows across applications and integrations, including permissions, data persistence, notifications, background processing, error handling, and critical edge cases.
• Analyze failures using browser developer tools, API requests, logs, basic database queries, and pertinent code modifications.
• Differentiate confirmed defects from assumptions and highlight product decisions that require clarification.
• Compose actionable bug reports that include reproduction steps, expected and actual results, tested environment and version, screenshots, recordings, or other supporting evidence.
• Separate release blockers from enhancements and unrelated defects in prioritization.
• Retest fixes and impacted workflows, then clearly communicate QA results, remaining risks, and blockers in tickets and pull requests.
• Maintain and enhance Playwright regression tests in TypeScript or JavaScript, which encompasses test data, page objects, setup, and cleanup.
• Investigate failed CI runs and mitigate flaky or misleading results.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure a testable deployment is ready, including suitable accounts and data, and a demonstrated happy path prior to QA initiation; escalate any missing prerequisites without delay.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to expand test scenarios, analyze code, and enhance automation while independently validating findings and test outcomes.
• Assist in delivering reliable changes across renter, partner, and internal operations applications, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Practical experience testing web applications and APIs within a SaaS or startup setting; the ability to showcase relevant work is more important than a specific number of years.
• Proficient manual and exploratory testing abilities, encompassing negative cases, permissions, persistence, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience writing or maintaining browser tests using Playwright or a similar framework, along with sufficient TypeScript or JavaScript knowledge to understand and modify test code.
• Familiarity with Git, pull requests, and CI test results to investigate changes and validate the version being tested.
• Competency in using browser developer tools and API tools like Postman; basic SQL skills for verifying application data in approved test environments.
• Experience documenting bugs and test outcomes in an issue tracker, with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
• Strong written and verbal English skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote team.
• Beneficial experience includes testing third-party integrations, asynchronous workflows, and AI-powered features; working with React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or AWS; and utilizing AI coding or browser tools for testing and investigation.
