QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and enhance the quality of Ashby's product offerings.

• Determine what aspects to test, the timing of tests, and which product segments to automate.

• Conduct around 70% of testing through hands-on manual methods.

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders as features are launched.

• Replicate bugs reported by users and identify edge cases as well as product vulnerabilities.

• Manage testing across entire feature areas for significant releases.

• Develop Playwright end-to-end tests and broaden test coverage, which constitutes about 30% of the role.

• Enhance the existing Playwright suite and page object architecture.

• Gain a deep understanding of the product and test actual pull requests early in the onboarding process.

• Engage in onboarding, peer pairing, training sessions, and 30-, 60-, and 90-day performance evaluations.

• Strong instincts for product testing and the ability to approach testing from a user perspective.

• Proficient in reproducing and isolating bugs.

• Self-motivated, capable of defining testing tasks and knowing when to seek assistance.

• Eagerness to develop automation skills.

• Ability to write clearly and concisely.

• Comfortable with coding and reviewing others' code.

• Some previous experience in writing E2E tests within an established framework.

• Readiness to predominantly engage in hands-on manual testing.

• Capability to use or learn Playwright and TypeScript for E2E testing.

• Experience with, or willingness to learn, TestRail, BrowserStack, and Postman.

• Participation in a live coding technical interview is required.
