Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and maintain Python services and APIs utilizing pydantic and FastAPI or comparable frameworks.

• Develop and oversee configuration data in Firestore, which includes transactions and versioned documents.

• Create and uphold processes that synchronize Firestore data with BigQuery.

• Produce formatted Excel outputs and reports using openpyxl.

• Deploy and manage services on Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and scheduled tasks.

• Provision and oversee cloud infrastructure with Terraform.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

• Configure IAM roles and ensure least-privilege service accounts.

• Write behavioral and property-based tests to verify code accuracy.

• Maintain code quality through type checking using pyright and linting with ruff.

• Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional services.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across services, integrations, and deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in Python data or backend engineering.

• Proficient in Python, with strong knowledge of pydantic and FastAPI (or similar frameworks).

• Experience in generating Excel files using openpyxl.

• Practical experience with GCP services, including Firestore (transactions, versioned documents), Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and scheduled jobs.

• Familiarity with syncing data from Firestore to BigQuery.

• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of IAM principles and least-privilege service account design.

• Proven experience in writing behavioral and property-based tests.

• Experience with type checking (pyright) and linting (ruff).

• Front-end development experience is preferred.

• Background in working on financial, billing, or data-intensive platforms is preferred.

• Experience in Agile or Scrum delivery environments is preferred.
