Python Backend Developer – File Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• System Implementation: Assist in the transformation of legacy Perl batch jobs into modern, maintainable Python services.

• Operational Reliability: Contribute to the implementation of workflow orchestration (Prefect/Airflow) to guarantee safe job re-runs and system stability.

• Observability: Aid in equipping our services with logging and alerting (Grafana/CloudWatch) to monitor systems without direct access to production.

• Data Transformation: Engage in data ingestion pipelines, transferring raw data to S3 and converting it into records for relational databases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Python Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of backend development experience using Python.

• Orchestration Exposure: Familiarity or practical experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.

• AWS Fundamentals: Basic understanding of AWS services including S3 and Lambda.

• Databases: Proficient with relational databases, particularly MySQL.

• Clean Code: Capable of writing intentional, human-readable code and able to articulate your implementation choices without relying on AI.

• Curiosity for Product: Interested in the business logic and reasoning behind the code, particularly in relation to payment flows and reconciliation.

• Problem Solving: Possess strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset for troubleshooting.

• Collaboration: Engage in agile sprints and maintain clear communication in English with team members and stakeholders.
