This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Develop, execute, and evaluate data governance and compliance policies, which cover data classification, labeling, and data loss prevention (DLP) protocols. Continuously monitor and refine these policies to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
• Set up and configure Microsoft Purview alongside integrated Microsoft 365 services. Oversee the management of role groups, custom roles, and permissions through the Purview portal.
• Reduce risks by safeguarding sensitive information from both internal and external threats. Implement solutions for information protection and insider risk management, while also responding to data protection incidents and engaging in security investigations.
• Oversee and facilitate eDiscovery processes, including data collection, search, and export functions for legal and compliance teams.
• Work collaboratively with data architects, analysts, IT, security teams, and business application stakeholders to implement solutions and promote governance best practices. Provide training and support for users regarding data protection tools and policies.
• Bachelor's Degree with over 8 years of progressive IT experience, OR an Associate's Degree with more than 10 years of experience, OR 12+ years of equivalent IT background.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to secure a public trust clearance.
• Practical experience in Microsoft Purview administration.
• Strong grasp of data governance, data security, and compliance concepts.
• Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and sensitivity labeling.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 environments and associated services, such as Microsoft Entra ID.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, particularly PowerShell, is advantageous.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and audits.
• Capability to create and enforce security and compliance policies.
