Infrastructure/Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Create, configure, and deploy both physical and virtual desktop environments;

• Diagnose and repair hardware issues involving desktops, laptops, zero clients, monitors, and docking stations;

• Oversee operating systems, BIOS configurations, and data encryption processes.

• Install and troubleshoot applications and certificates for end users.

• Repair and recover data files, decrypt files that are inaccessible, migrate data for various projects, and manage permissions.

• Accurately document activities within trouble tickets while adhering to all SLAs.

• Patch network ports, trace lines, and install network switches.

• Configure and maintain UPS devices and batteries, troubleshoot failures, coordinate vendor visits, and plan downtime with clients.

• Install and set up VOIP phones and voicemail systems, and resolve phone-related issues.

• Configure printing, scanning, and faxing features on multifunction devices, manage multi-step replacements with vendors, and troubleshoot communication problems.

• Plan for user relocations, addressing connectivity, computers, and phones.

• Maintain and troubleshoot local security and badging systems.

• Prepare outdated assets for proper disposal.

• Provide assistance to other IT teams as necessary.

• Support both unclassified and classified systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in Windows desktop operating systems and Dell hardware is essential.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook are mandatory.

• A solid understanding of network communications is required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to strong customer service abilities, are necessary.

• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.

• Outstanding time management skills are required.

• A minimum TS/SCI clearance with a full scope polygraph is required.

• Possession of Security Plus Certification is mandatory.

• Desired: Training or knowledge in Linux.
