Purchasing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the client to grasp the goals and objectives of meetings, along with sleeping room and space requirements.

• Take a consultative approach to your work.

• Offer recommendations based on supplier relationships, budget constraints, location, availability, and meeting goals.

• Distribute, monitor, and evaluate supplier Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to meet client requirements for meetings.

• Negotiate contracts to secure the best possible prices and concessions, aligning with savings expectations for meeting expenditures.

• Identify preferred ground transportation providers and present proposals to the group.

• Efficiently manage amendments and cancellation requests.

• Stay informed about new destination options, competitively priced seasonal destinations, and attractive date offerings.

• Enter and update contracted details and negotiated savings within CVENT.

• Keep track of hotel penalties for rebooking opportunities.

• Comply with client performance management SLAs.

• Deliver exceptional customer service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Knowledge of the travel industry and destinations is advantageous.

• Experience with CVENT is essential; certification is preferred.

• International experience is a bonus.

• Experience in the Pharma/Medical Device sector is a plus.

• Certifications such as CMP, CMM, HMCC, or CMP-HC are advantageous.

• Excellent customer service abilities are a must.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience is acceptable.

• Demonstrated experience in hotel sourcing and contracting is necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Windows platform is required.
