This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.
• Taking ownership of the strategy formulation and implementation for designated journals, ensuring they align with portfolio objectives and key publishing indicators.
• Keeping abreast of industry trends and performing competitive analysis to guide journal positioning and growth.
• Collaborating with Editors to steer the editorial content strategy, emphasizing emerging research and its relevance to the community.
• Enhancing engagement with authors, reviewers, and editors through focused outreach and retention initiatives.
• Serving as a reliable editorial partner and primary contact for Editors, addressing issues with professionalism and clarity.
• Overseeing the lifecycle of the editorial board, which includes recruitment, onboarding, renewals, and performance evaluation.
• Contributing to organizational projects, spanning product development and cross-functional process enhancement.
• Evaluating journal performance metrics and advocating for scalable, data-driven reporting solutions.
• Promoting editorial best practices and mentoring junior team members to cultivate a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development.
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in scholarly publishing, with a strong preference for those who have successfully built and managed portfolios within a sound science open access framework.
• Required experience in closely engaging with researchers, editors, and academic communities through outreach, conference participation, or similar efforts.
• Preferred familiarity with the physical sciences; a graduate degree in a related discipline is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, particularly with Excel and PowerBI; experience with peer review platforms and CRM systems is a plus.
• Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Previous experience in mentorship or onboarding is highly valued.
• Must be willing to travel to conferences and meetings as required.
