This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, test, and sustain data pipelines along with ETL/ELT processes.
• Facilitate the implementation and enhancement of data models, databases, and cloud-based data solutions.
• Engage in data integration, migration, and modernization projects under the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Create and uphold scripts, queries, and applications utilizing Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Provide support for AWS and Azure cloud-based data environments and services.
• Assist in CI/CD processes and adhere to software development best practices using Git.
• Oversee data pipelines and systems, identify potential issues, and aid in troubleshooting and resolution.
• Conduct data validation and quality assurance tasks.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Document technical processes, data flows, and system configurations.
• Continuously enhance technical skills and remain updated with data engineering technologies and best practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DHS Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar technical field.
• Experience in data engineering, software engineering, data analytics, computer science, or a STEM-related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of Python, Java, or SQL.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and data querying principles.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure through coursework, certifications, internships, or professional experiences.
• Exposure to data integration, ETL processes, data warehousing, or analytics concepts.
• Desirable experience through internships, academic work, research, or projects in data engineering, cloud computing, or software development.
• Exposure to Databricks, Spark, or large-scale data processing technologies is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, or Redshift, or Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, or Cosmos DB is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Kibana is advantageous.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and DevOps practices is a plus.
• Desirable to have AWS, Azure, Databricks, or related cloud/data certifications.
• Experience supporting healthcare, public sector, or federal clients is a plus.
