This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver consulting, analytics, testing, training, and development services to support the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

• Access and analyze intricate data from diverse sources, manipulate datasets, and perform statistical analyses.

• Execute regular and complex quality assessments on data and analytic outputs.

• Oversee data cleaning and manipulation tasks while implementing automated solutions.

• Conduct analyses using Python and/or R; interpret, summarize, and present findings to technical, clinical, and product stakeholders.

• Create materials, review documentation, troubleshoot issues, and report results related to FHIR–EHR mapping, patient identity matching, encounter reconciliation, and clinical data standardization.

• Collaborate to plan, develop, and execute projects and materials.

• Convey advanced analytic guidance and statistical methodology to clients, management, and team members.

• Assess client needs and convert them into formal requirements.

• Present results to project teams and clients both verbally and in writing, using either technical or plain language as appropriate.

• Test applications and provide constructive feedback to software developers and quality assurance technicians.

• Maintain expertise in public health and stay updated on industry changes and trends.

• Create training sessions, project updates, and presentations regarding NHSN antimicrobial-use and resistance initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, public health, or a related field with at least nine years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in using Python and/or R to import, manipulate, and analyze data for quality and accuracy evaluation.

• Experience in managing large datasets, transferring and merging files across platforms, cleaning and aggregating data, and performing quality control.

• Background in quality assurance testing or user acceptance testing involving healthcare data.

• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.

• Capability to successfully complete a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, mathematics, or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience with antimicrobial use, antimicrobial resistance, and/or Healthcare-Associated Infections data.

• Preferred: Familiarity with or experience in real-world analysis and mapping of HL7 FHIR resources, including the normalization and standardization of clinical data.

• Preferred: Knowledge of NHSN.

• Preferred: Understanding or experience with big data analysis, patient identity matching, encounter reconciliation, longitudinal record construction, cross-system data linkage, and deduplication/data reconciliation.

• Candidate must reside in the United States.
