Public Affairs Associate

📋 Description

• Takes ownership of assigned workstreams from planning to delivery, establishing the strategy, prioritizing competing demands, and figuring out how to achieve objectives with minimal daily oversight.

• Functions as a cross-functional resource across Bantam's divisions, providing support to one or more teams simultaneously and shifting focus as priorities and capacity requirements evolve.

• Evaluates and compiles research including stakeholder insights, policy landscapes, opposition analysis, public opinion, and media evaluations into findings and recommendations that guide campaign and engagement strategies.

• Creates and modifies campaign, brand, and internal communications materials across various formats, exercising editorial judgment to align the content with the target audience and objectives.

• Contributes to the formulation of campaign and engagement strategies, exercising independent judgment in executing and adjusting approaches, messaging, and tactics to suit the specific permitting environment, audience, or partner.

• Acts as an informed point of contact for clients and partners on assigned projects, providing guidance on operational and strategic issues within the role's purview.

• Facilitates cross-functional collaboration across research, campaigns, communications, and advocacy workstreams, determining the order of operations and resource trade-offs, while managing interdependencies across teams.

• Designs, documents, and enhances internal processes and workflows that improve the efficiency of the team's operations.

• Utilizes AI tools such as Claude to enhance and expedite work processes, including drafting, revising, and refining materials, while applying critical judgment to review, enhance, and ensure the quality of outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in public affairs, policy, communications, or a related field.

• Experience with political, electoral, or issue-driven campaigns.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal abilities and sound political and stakeholder instincts.

• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple workstreams independently, with minimal daily supervision.

• Strong research and synthesis capabilities.

• Flexibility and comfort in shifting focus across teams and priorities as needs change.

• Self-motivated and effective in a fully remote setting.

• Comfort with using AI tools in everyday tasks and a willingness to adapt as technology progresses.

• Genuine alignment with Bantam's mission to expedite advanced energy deployment.

• Willingness and capability to travel occasionally (approximately once or twice per quarter) as project and client requirements arise.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
